Armin Bender is a certified and recognised expert for IT forensics, certified by DESAG – Deutsche Sachverständigen Gesellschaft mbH (German Expert Witness Association). He has also completed the DESAG courses „IT-Forensik-Analyst“ (IT forensic analyst) and „IT-Forensiker für mobile Systeme“ (IT forensic examiner for mobile systems).

At the start we discuss the circumstances with you and the objective of the examination. We clarify which devices or data are available and which technical conditions have to be taken into account. On that basis we define the scope and the appropriate approach.

Acquisition and the subsequent analysis are documented so they can be followed. Where the method allows, the analysis is carried out on verified working copies. Technical tools help to locate relevant information and to relate individual findings to one another. Their results are reviewed professionally and assessed in the context of the instructed question.

It remains visible which conclusions are supported by the available traces and which questions remain open. That distinction is part of a careful examination.

The expert records the approach and the results in a traceable expert report. It describes the assignment and the methods used, explains the technical findings and leads to the professional assessment. The limitations of the statements are also set out clearly.

You should be able to see how a finding was arrived at and on what basis it rests. Technical terms are therefore explained and the essential connections are set out plainly. The report is intended to allow a factual discussion of the results.
